September 3 Program - Haydn and Brahms
The first meeting will explore the differences (and amazing
similarities!) of two symphonic giants: Franz Joseph Haydn and Johannes Brahms. Learn about Sonata-Allegro form,
the structure which gave fuel to the symphony's growth and explore the fascinating
stories of how both composers began their symphonic odysseys. While musically
very different from each other, these symphonic masters provide
remarkable listening experiences to anyone who wishes to explore their legacies.
